This Fourth of July, as the United States kicks off its historic 250th Independence celebration, the Valley Artisans Market will host a timely photography exhibition. Clifford Oliver will showcase a stunning series of Revolutionary War reenactment photographs in the market’s Small Gallery. The exhibition officially opens on Saturday, July 4th, offering visitors a unique visual bridge to America’s founding era.
Oliver, a veteran photographer well-versed in advertising, commercial, editorial, and fine art photography, brings a seasoned depth to the collection. Born and raised in New York City, Oliver has spent his adult life in rural New York—a background that allows him to seamlessly blend big-city technical skills with a deep, small-town care for his subjects and community.
“My mission is always to make the photograph happen at any cost—saving only safety and respect,” said photographer Clifford Oliver. “These re-enactment pieces are fueled by a deep reverence for life and history, and I’m thrilled to share them with the community during such a monumental milestone for our nation.”
Oliver is widely known not just for his striking imagery, but for his collaborative spirit and dedication to his craft. He plays well with others, aims to please, and is always available for consultation and creative “shop talk” with fellow art lovers.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception on July 4th from 3 to 5 PM to view the collection, meet the artist, and celebrate the Semiquincentennial through a masterful local lens.
