Chung-Ah Park: pottery

member since 1993

"Since I attempted to make an ocarina at my neighbor's pottery studio many years ago, the pleasure of touching clay with my hands has stayed with me. For more than ten years the desire to play with clay again was on my mind. Finally, I bought a wheel and started making pottery. Gradually, I came to realize how many different ways there are to make pots. They can be as varied as each individual. I also realized that, as many potters believe, there is sometimes what seems to be a transfer of energy from the potter to the vessel. I hope I  can listen to the lump of clay in my hands, and to myself, to create pieces that can speak to others."
